Brian Culbertson’s BCXII Video Blog 20 (Logic to PT)

Someone asked how my Logic computer interfaces with my ProTools computer. Well, here it is!! I show you exactly how the audio from Logic using the MOTU 2408 Mk. III goes to the ProTools 192 interface via lightpipe. Also, how they are ’synced’ up using SMPTE Time Code with the Digidesign SYNC I/O to the Unitor 8 MIDI interface. I also explain my digital clock source for the whole studio, the Apogee Big Ben.

This is actually not a display of wasted tax dollars currently spent by the US government. It is called the Metronome and is in Union Square in New York City. The Metronome is an art exhibit. From the World Wide Web we read: How to read the clock the Metronome — on the art wall at 1 Union Square South? The 15 numbers of the digital clock display time going and coming relative to midnight. Read time going left to right and time coming in the opposite direction. So, if the clock reads 070437000235616 it means that it is 7:04 AM (7 hours and 04 minutes since midnight) and that there are 16 hours, 56 minutes and 23 seconds remaining until midnight. The three numbers in between are a blur of moving numbers. See if you can figure out what time we were there. Good luck!!!!
